This summer I am interning as a marketing intern for a startup in Ramat Gan (one of the suburbs of Tel Aviv) at a conglomerate of three startups called WebSelenese. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived in Israel and learned that there were two more startups that I would be working with while interning this summer.  I am happy that I get to experience the startup world with both a developed startup and two relatively new ones.

I am excited about their mission statement which a big part of it is to advocate for cybersecurity. I did not know much about cybersecurity before I started, but within the first few days I realized how important it is and how more people should be aware of its necessity with the growing use of the internet and technology. This is something that I have been enjoying and that has made me excited for the rest of the summer. I want to work in the startup industry and eventually, I want to create my own startup (possibly a venture capital firm). I chose a marketing entrepreneurship internship because I really like marketing and I knew it would be an amazing opportunity to be a part of a startup and see what it is actually like.

I bring a lot of skills and experiences to my internship this summer. I am good at communicating and collaboration, taking initiative, time management, adapting, critical thinking, conducting research and analyses, and receiving and utilizing feedback. I also bring a decent amount of experience with me. For the past year I was a marketing and developmental intern at a local non-profit in Winston-Salem called, The Parenting PATH (used to be Exchange/SCAN-Stop Child Abuse Now) and last summer I was a grassroots marketing representative for The New England Revolution soccer team at The Kraft Group. Both of these experiences have provided me with many skills within the designing and promotional aspects of marketing and this summer I am hoping to learn more about the strategic side of marketing. Through my skills and previous experiences, I believe I will be able to bring value to all three startups by using my previous knowledge, being open to learning new things, and taking the initiative to work hard and be productive throughout my time at WebSelenese.

All of my tasks on Asana

I have the opportunity to take part in a variety of assignments which is all the fun of interning for a startup. I am learning how to reach a broader audience via their blogs, how to increase traffic on the website, developing content for their blogs, improving the graphics on the blog by working with designers to create new graphics, helping brand and develop their new startup Website Planet, working on video creation, and much more that is to be determined. Additionally, I have the opportunity to create and develop my own marketing project which I am really excited about because it will allow me to learn more about the strategical side of marketing. I am also excited to learn about international marketing/promotion and startup marketing/promotion. Additionally, I look forward to learning things that I never even imagined I would learn or knew existed. It has only been a little over a week and I have already learned so much and am excited to see how I grow and what I accomplish by the end of my marketing summer internship. Stay tuned and keep up with me on the Facebook page for the  Center For Entrepreneurship!
