Fourth Annual Excellence in Entrepreneurship Awards Banquet 6:00pm -- Magnolia Room For the past three years, we have recognized student, faculty, and staff achievement in entrepreneurship in a number of different categories including on-line, social, artistic, commercial, etc. Students, faculty and staff who have exhibited extraordinary achievements in entrepreneurship over the past year will be recognized -- the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award will be presented to an outstanding individual in recognition of demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, achievement, and social responsibility -- AND it is the inaugural year of The Hobbs Award for Entrepreneurial Achievement.
This year, in addition to our annual Excellence in Entrepreneurship recognition awards, we will present the Hobbs Award for Entrepreneurial Achievement for the first time. This monetary award is made possible thanks to the generous contribution of the Russell D. and Elfriede Hobbs Fund for Entrepreneurship and Liberal Arts. Two $2500 awards will be presented to acknowledge a particularly exceptional dedication to entrepreneurship. One award honors the most outstanding and innovative Wake Forest Student Entrepreneurship Venture (individual or team). The second award honors a Wake Forest Faculty Member or team who has made an outstanding contribution to the study and/or practice of entrepreneurship, either through exceptional support of the Entrepreneurship and Liberal Arts program or through the creation and continuation of a unique and innovative entrepreneurial venture. Due to the financial component of the award, the application for the Hobbs Award is more extensive than the nomination process for the annual recognition awards. Self-nominated applicants will be accepted.
