WFU students will be graded for staging music festival

DashPop – whose name is derived from the famous dash that united Winston with Salem – is the creation of a new yearlong entrepreneurship class at WFU that challenges students to put on an actual music festival. Professor Len Neighbors said the festival, slated for March 27-29, will feature a variety of artists of various genres. Folk/country and R&B/Hip-Hop will be most emphasized. The acts will perform at outdoor stages and inside downtown clubs. The festival will be free, though there will be a small fee for after-hours events.

IF LABs [Inventing Futures] – encounters with creativity at Wake Forest University is part of the 10 Year celebration of the Program for Innovation,Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE). This week long festival is designed to shine a light on the links between human ingenuity, knowledge, craft and vision in a range of inter/disciplinary settings that foster hands on, interactive approaches to making. IF LABs invites participants to sign up for micro labs and hands-on workshops, co-create and see performances, and join in stimulating discussions about 21st creativity – as experienced at Wake Forest, across disciplines, in the digisphere, in cities, schools and societies around the globe.
