Student Leadership Opportunities

There are three Executive Leadership Opportunities for students with the ICE Program:  the University Innovation Fellow, the TEDx Executive Director, and the Executive Director of the Do Something Challenge.  See below for descriptions and links to the application.

University Innovation Fellow

As the University Innovation Fellow, you would:

  • Network with a national network of Fellows at other universities.

  • Inspire more innovation and entrepreneurship on campus and help take WFU to the next level.  Opportunities might include:

    • Developing Wake Forest in Silicon Valley.

    • Fundraising for a new Student Venture Capital Fund.

    • Host an inaugural Start-up Weekend at Wake Forest.

    • Start a Student Entrepreneur in Residence program.


TEDx Executive Director

As the TEDx Executive Director, you would:

  • Be responsible for executing the TEDxWakeForestU conference in February, 2016.

  •  Select a team of student assistant directors and meet with them weekly throughout the fall semester. (Meetings intensify in January and February.)

  • Design the TEDxWakeForestU conference theme.

  • Help recruit a high-powe

  • red roster of speakers for the event.

  • Promote TEDxWakeForestU to the broader community.


Executive Director of the Do Something Challenge

As the Executive Director for the Do Something Challenge, you would: 

  • Be the founding director of what we hope will become an annual event, and as such provide the vision and leadership needed to launch it.

  • Shape and define the competition and surrounding events, along with input from the key sponsors, namely the CICE and the Pro Humanitate Institute.

  • Enlist the support of an executive team of students to help you manage all aspects of the execution.  The event will take place in November 2015.

  • Begin the process of creating a "how to" manual for future generations of student leaders for this event.

Completed applications are due in 230 Reynolda Hall by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Top applicants will be invited to interview with a committee of faculty and staff.
