This summer I am interning at 2ULaundry in Atlanta in the role of Marketing Intern. 2ULaundry is at an exciting time, as they have just recently expanded into the Atlanta market following their success in Charlotte. After hearing Alex Smereczniak, CEO of 2ULaundry, speak at Wake Forest University for the Entrepreneurial Experience class, I was drawn to the company. It was obvious after my first phone call with 2ULaundry, that they care a lot about their customers and also place great value on their employees. I see this every day in the office, as everyone is so close and everyone believes in each other.

I chose this internship because I believe in the idea behind the company and how I felt during the in-person interview. 2ULaundry is a company that is tackling a problem that many adults face, which is just that time is too important to be spent on mundane and draining chores such as laundry. Time should be spent doing the things that matter like spending time with family, because as we say at 2ULaundry, time is delicate. I could tell that the employees believed in the company in my interview and were excited to see what I could bring to the table. In this internship I will be gaining skills such as working in Adobe InDesign, creating community partnerships, and helping to manage the social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. I will also be creating a new social media presence on Pinterest for 2ULaundry. With my passion for art, I think that this creative side of marketing will hold many opportunities for growth and will be something I really enjoy.

This past week, I traveled to Charlotte to visit the headquarters. My boss, content creator Morgan Wren, and I took headshots for the future 2ULaundry team page. I was able to meet most of the team and get the feeling of the Charlotte location as well. Throughout my time in Charlotte, what I noticed most was the togetherness of the company. No matter what position someone holds, everyone is treated with respect and everyone is eager to help a coworker if needed. In my first few weeks, all of my coworkers have welcomed me with open arms. Every day I have been there, I have had opportunities like sitting in on meetings or speaking with the company that helps run our social media.

One of my favorite experiences was tabling at a neighborhood festival. I was able to talk face to face with our customers and promote 2ULaundry to a whole community. Having that on-the-ground knowledge allowed me to better understand what potential customers have questions about, what our customers appreciate, and how to best share 2ULaundry. Connecting with the community also made me realize that my work was having an immediate turn-around. Unlike other internships, I am seeing my work come into action, like having people from the festival sign up for our services right after the event.

Overall, this internship has already been a worthwhile experience and our office at Ponce City Market has started to feel like home. After seeing 2ULaundry from the inside, I only love the company more. They have a great work atmosphere, a bond like a family, and an extremely admirable work ethic. The location alone puts us at the center of Atlanta life, as Ponce has some of the best things Atlanta has to offer like King of Pops and immediate access to the beltline. Needless to say, I feel pretty cool going into work every day. Being a Marketing Intern with 2ULaundry is definitely a new spin on the internship experience (pun intended).
